Commander Arthur Yarranton. SN

District 18 is one of 33 districts of the United States Power Squadrons®, the world's largest private, non-profit, boating organization. District 18 (D18) geographically is located in northeastern Massachusetts and consist of 4 different Squadrons with over 500 members who share boating knowledge and camaraderie. Experienced instructors teach courses on Seamanship, Piloting, Navigation, Weather and much more. Successfully completing one of the USPS Public Boating Courses meets the educational requirements for boat operation in all states.

Salem Sound is now a No Discharge Area Salem Sound and other parts of the New England coatal area have been designated as a "no discharge" area for boats.
